Today is my 50th birthdayā¦
I donāt think Iāve ever been more excited for a birthday

In 50 years of life, I have definitely felt great anticipation over certain dates, like graduations, our wedding, and the births of our children.
Iām sure you can relate.
But this is a different kind of excitement. It feels personal, but it also feels BIGGER than that!
I keep asking friends, who have already turned 50; āIs it weird that Iām so excited?ā
This morning, I woke up with a prompting from Holy Spirit, to dig into the meaning of JUBILEE.
Boom! š„
This is deeper than my newly earned wrinkles, wider than my new waist line and more abundant than the candles on the cake. š Itās richer than the icing of gray hairs and wisdom Iāve gained up until now.
āYou shall consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for youā¦ā
āLeviticus 25:10
In the Bible, thereās a time and season for everything. Iām here to encourage all of us that I believe itās TIME for Jubilee!
This Jubilee year is holy invitation into something beautiful for those of us who belong to God. Itās a year of favor, freedom, restoration, and divine rest.
Letās dig a little deeper⦠š¤
The Hebrew word for Jubilee is āyovelā, which refers to a ramās hornāthis was a trumpet that would sound throughout the land declaring liberty.
Stop. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and listen.
Jubilee has a sound.
Can you hear it?
Hereās a song that might helpā¦
I believe he is always inviting us to pay attention; To listen to what a new season sounds like.
I donāt always do that. But this year,
the sounds have been more like alarms (or trumpets) that are a bit easier to catch ā
when Iām paying attention. š
Still, I didnāt quite know what it all meant.
I was seeing double 7ās everywhere! The grocery bill would be $77, the temperature, the speed my hubby was driving š«£, a football jersey. It was highlighted, but I kept asking the Lord to reveal what he wanted me to know.
Then I found out that Jubilee occurred every 50th year, after seven cycles of seven years (49 years).
In addition, I was dreaming wildly and waking up with songs playing in my spirit. Certain words would JUMP off of the pages of scripture, like hot bread, fresh out of the oven. Words like āLISTENā and āNEWā and āRESTOREā.
I felt the shift and wondered if we were entering into something like a divine reset?
A new dawn.
A fulfillment of promises.
Restoration.
Redemption.
There are some really incredible things that stand out to me, Biblically-speaking, about Jubilee. I did a little search. Hereās what popped up ā with some of my journal thoughts after each prompt.
Perhaps you can grab a journal and sit with the Lord on these things. Take your time.
JUBILEE SIGNIFIES
1. Freedom for Slaves
All Israelite slaves were to be set free.
It was a reset from bondageāphysically and economically.
āš» š šHow cool is that?!!!
This got me thinking; āare there any āslave-mindsetsā that Iāve been living in and need to repent of and renounce?ā
(ie: Here are a few Iāve believed: āMy worth is in my work, Iām never going to be free, life feels hopeless, Iām alone, unloved, not enough and carrying the weight of the worldā).
Another question : āAm I in bondage to anything in this world, besides being a willing bond-servant of Christā? He will show us when we ask.
2. Return of Land
Land that had been sold due to poverty or debt was to be returned to its original family. This ensured that no family would permanently lose their inheritance.
āš» ššWhoa! This is the best news. Jubilee reminds us that we get to take back territory! We get to reclaim everything the enemy has stolen from us! No matter what family we come from, the debts of our fathers, our own messā¦
if it is part of our inheritance in Christ, we get to reclaim it!
Ask the Lord āwhat has been stolen from me?ā (Years, identity, health, peace, joyā¦) . What would you like me to reclaim in this season?
Reminds me of this song:
The woman who touched the fringe of Jesusā robe (Matthew 9) had her health stolen. In addition; she lost community, finances, and hope.
Just ONE touch from Jesus brought FREEDOM in every way- she experienced JUBILEE

3. No Sowing or Reaping
Just like the sabbatical year (every 7th year), the land was to rest. No planting or harvestingāpeople were to live off what God provided.
āš» š šREST is Godās idea.
God modeled rest on the 7th day of creation and teaches us the power of allowing land to rest every 7 years.
This is a clue: we were never created to ALWAYS be producing.
Deep breath. Isnāt that a light and easy yoke?
We can ask Him if thereās an area of our lives where we chosen striving over abiding.
āAll work, no playā is manās system, not Godās rhythm.
Thereās a time and season for sowing and harvesting - but Jubilee is an invitation to trust God to provide abundantly and restore the years, while we simply ABIDE in Him. In the Kingdom, we get to RECEIVE before we DO anything!
4. Debt Forgiveness
While not explicitly stated in Leviticus 25, the Jubilee year extended the spirit of economic mercy and justice, consistent with the release of debts mentioned in Deuteronomy 15.
Jubilee points prophetically in every way to Jesus. āŗļø āļøš©øāļøāš„š
In Luke 4:18ā21, Jesus reads from Isaiah 61 and declares:
āThe Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to being Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free and that the TIME of the Lordās favor has come.ā
āš»ššJesus Himself is our Jubilee,
bringing deliverance, freedom, RESToration, and redemption to all who believe in Him.
Have I been looking to something or someone else to be my source of deliverance, restoration, freedom, etc
Finally,
Yesterday was Pentecost Sunday. š„
Pentecost is Greek for āFiftiethā!
(50 days after Passover, Pentecost is celebrated - marking the Acts 2 outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon believers).
āš»ššHave you been in a season of waiting on a promise?
Me, too. And Iām beginning to see fulfillment of many prayers, this year. Could it be, jubilee?
Waiting on God is never wasted. Itās in those seasons that he prepares us for the magnitude of whatās coming.
This doesnāt mean we will never struggle or suffer. It means that he has purpose and preparation in it.
The Holy Spirit is our greatest GIFT from Jesus āHe rests on our weakness āand ushers in supernatural strength, comfort, peace, joy. He emboldens us to live in the grace of the NEW, abundant life promised in Christ. We become the carriers of the JUBILEE anointing of Jesus to a world that desperately needs FREEDOM, RESTORATION, REDEMPTION and a spiritual inheritance from Him.

Friend, I believe we have a divine invitation right now into the type of CONSECRATION and PROCLAMATION that Leviticus 25 mentions.
āConsecrateā means to set apart or to declare something as sacred or having divine purpose.
āProclaimā means to publicly declare or announce something with emphasis.
I would love to pray with you.
And, I always love to hear from you, so please feel free to respond to this blog with requests, thoughts or scriptures that come to mind.
š
Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you in gratitude and praise. Thank you for teaching us about your times and seasons and perfect RHYTHMS. Thank you for highlighting JUBILEE!
For my 50th birthday, I ask for a fresh outpouring of your Holy Spirit to fall on each reader right now.
For those who believe and call on your name, Jesus , I ask that you would flood us with your presence and release us from every false mindset, every word curse, weight, or wound weāve carried that is not of you. We ask for forgiveness for holding on to what does not belong to us. We consecrate this holy reset to you. Release us to walk in the liberty and inheritance you purchased for us.
Remind us today that we do not have to prove anything. We are not behind. We are not late. Let striving cease, in your name, Jesus. We declare that our fruitfulness in this season comes not from effort but from abiding.
Thank you for rest and restoration. We believe that you are returning what the enemy tried to stealājoy, identity, peace, purpose⦠we are reclaiming whatās ours, not because weāve earned it, but because you are always GOOD.
We love you, Lord.
May this year be marked by your presence and the sounds of JUBILEE. Even in the valleys, we know you are good. We will testify of your goodness and we will echo your voice. We will trust your timing and proclaim your promises (even when we donāt yet see them). Help us to live in a way that honors you and releases others from the grip of anything but your hem.
In Jesus name I pray,
amen.
Happy Jubilee, friend. God is not done writing your story. In fact, He may just be turning the page to the most beautiful chapter yet.
Much Love,
š©µš
Amy
I grew up on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay ( Mobile Bay was originally named the Bay of the Holy Spirit by Spanish explorer Pineda in 1519 as he took the abundance of life in the Bay as a sign of Godās provision in the New World!)ā¦.
Mobile Bay is one of only two places in the World that experiences a Jubilee! A Jubilee is a rare natural phenomenon where fish, shellfish, and crabs gather at the shoreline in large numbers, seemingly being driven to the shallows by specific environmental conditions. Tokyo Bay in Japan is the only other place known where Jubilees occur!
I have distinct memories of 2:00 AM shouts of āJuuuuuuubileeeeeeā down the beach alerting allā¦
